Who we are

Griddy Sketch is an independently developed drawing-reference and practice application for iPhone and iPad. References to “Griddy Sketch”, “we”, “us”, or “our” mean the developer identified on the app’s Apple App Store listing.

Information handled by the app

• Your creative content: photos you import, camera frames, Form Lab renders, drawings and exported reference images are processed on your device. Griddy Sketch does not upload this creative content to our servers or include it in product analytics. Content leaves the app only when you choose an Apple save or share action.
• Practice progress and settings: the app stores preferences, challenge completion, streaks, active-study state and similar progress locally. Limited practice progress may use Apple iCloud key-value storage so it can follow the same Apple Account across devices when iCloud is available.
• Product analytics: when “Share Product Analytics” is enabled, Google Analytics for Firebase receives privacy-limited events such as whether onboarding, a grid, export, Form Lab handoff, challenge or purchase flow succeeded. Event properties may include app version, free or Pro status, feature, source screen, drawing-goal category, challenge identifier, day number, grid type and a broad error category. Firebase Analytics may also automatically measure an Apple in-app purchase event using the product identifier, product name and localized price.
• App and device information: Firebase may process an app-instance identifier, device and operating-system information, app version, language, approximate location derived from IP address, and service diagnostics. Griddy Sketch does not set a Firebase user ID, request the advertising identifier, or connect Analytics events to a Griddy account.
• Remote learning content: the app downloads challenge descriptions and reference images from Google Firebase Storage. Google may process network and request metadata needed to deliver and protect those files.
• Purchases: Apple StoreKit processes the Griddy Sketch Pro purchase and restoration. The app receives product and verified entitlement status needed to unlock Pro; we do not receive your card, bank, or Apple Account credentials.
• Support: if you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include.

Camera and photo access

Photo-library access is used when you choose a reference or save a prepared image. Camera access is used for AR Trace and optional practice-progress capture. These permissions are requested only for the relevant feature and can be changed in iOS or iPadOS Settings.

How we use information

• Provide and remember your canvas, grid, learning and practice experience.
• Deliver challenge references and other app content.
• Verify Pro entitlement and restore eligible purchases.
• Understand whether important workflows succeed and improve reliability and usability.
• Respond to support and privacy requests.

We do not use your information for advertising, cross-app tracking, data brokerage, or training generative-AI models.

Analytics choice

You can stop future Analytics collection at any time in Griddy Sketch → Settings → Share Product Analytics. The setting persists across launches. Turning it off does not remove essential Apple purchase verification or the network requests needed to download a challenge you open.

When information is shared

We do not sell personal information. Limited information is processed only by service providers needed to run the app:

• Apple: App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases and restoration, iCloud key-value sync, photo saving, camera and system sharing.
• Google Firebase: optional product analytics, app-instance services, and delivery of remote challenge content.
• Legal and safety: information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, investigate abuse, or protect users, the app, or the developer.

Retention and deletion

• Creative content: remains on your device or in destinations you choose, such as Photos or a share target. Remove it using those system locations.
• Local settings and progress: remain until changed, reset, or removed by deleting the app or its data.
• iCloud practice progress: may remain in your Apple iCloud key-value store and is controlled through your Apple Account and iCloud settings.
• Analytics: user-level event data is retained according to the Firebase-linked Google Analytics property’s retention setting; aggregated reports may remain longer. We keep the shortest practical retention for product measurement and do not attach a Griddy account identity.
• Purchase records: are retained by Apple under Apple’s policies. Verified entitlement remains available so a purchase can be restored.
• Support email: is kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request and maintain necessary support records.

Griddy Sketch has no account system and therefore no separate Griddy account to delete. To request deletion of information you sent directly to support, email us from the same address.

Children

Griddy Sketch is a general-audience creative tool and does not knowingly collect names, email addresses, or other direct identifiers from children inside the app. If you believe a child sent personal information through support, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Security and international processing

Network traffic to Apple and Firebase is encrypted in transit. Service providers may process information in countries where they operate and protect it under their applicable terms and safeguards. No storage or transmission method is completely risk-free.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when features, providers, or legal requirements change. The revised page will show a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel when required.
